IMPACT TOOLS

PTI PROVIDES THE OIL INDUSTRY WITH THE BEST OIL DRILLING JAR IN THE MARKET. IT CAN BE USE IN CONJUNCTION WITH A DRILLING ACCELERATOR GUARANTEEING THE BEST RESULTS.

HYDRAULIC DRILLING JARS

Our double-acting hydraulic drilling Jars are ideal for drilling operations with the assurance that you have the best solution if you experience a Stuck Pipe event. We are sure that they will exceed your expectations in operation and service. Besides we have at your disposal a team with more than 20 years of experience, it will be available at any time to help you with the positioning and operation of our tool in the different BHA.

Our drilling jar incorporates technology that allows it to be run in all types of wells (vertical and directional), whether in tension or compression, in TANDEM, NHD and conventional configuration.

The double-acting hydraulic drilling jar can deliver a heavy impact, when a bottom hole assembly becomes stuck. Designed to operate as an integral part of a drill string, it can withstand normal drilling conditions of torque, pump pressure, temperatures up to 450°F when equipped with its optional high temperature seals.

HYDRAULIC DRILLING ACCELERATORS

Our hydraulic drilling accelerators are available to be run in conjunction with our double-action hydraulic hammers to ensure the best results in wells with a high degree of complexity.

Specifications

Our Hydraulic Drilling Jar can be used in various operations:

  • Vertical Well Drilling
  • Directional Well Drilling
  • Fishing Operations
  • Coring
  • Well Reconditioning (Work Over)
  • High tensile capacity, long free stroke, and high impact capacity.
  • The hammer features a robust and durable seal for prolonged use and has high tensile strength for greater impact capacity.
  • The ACME connections are tapered, allowing the hammer to navigate smaller hole radii while reducing fatigue damage to the tool.
  • The splines remain constantly engaged.
  • A wide ID allows for tool passage with minimal pressure drop through the hammer.
  • The seals are designed to prevent low-pressure leaks and enable the tool to operate even under compression. They maintain sealing capability at any pressure, including zero pressure.
  • The hammer can be placed in the BHA at the customer’s request through a hammer placement program.
  • The wall thickness is greater than that of other tools on the market.

Benefits of Using the Hammer Placement Software:

  • Calculates the maximum impact and impulse both upward and downward.
  •  Determines whether the drilling hammer is in compression or tension, considering the WOB (Weight on Bit).
  • Computes the neutral point of the drill string using the total depth (TD), well inclination, string weight, expected bit weight, and drilling fluid density.
  • Identifies if the drilling hammer is too close to the neutral point.
  • Enables a quick comparison of the drilling hammer in different positions to easily determine the optimal location within the drill string.
  • Accurately calculates air weight, buoyed weight, inclined buoyed weight, and total string weight.

Required Information:

  • To perform these calculations, the following data must be provided:
  • Well description from surface to total depth.
  • BHA configuration.
  • Friction coefficient.
  • Mud weight.
  • Minimum and maximum WOB.
  • Drill pipe weight per foot in air.
  • Distance (in feet) from the bit to a potential conflict point.
  • Drilling hammer size.
